Anil Dhirubhai Ambani is an accomplished entrepreneur and is acknowledged as one of the fastest growing multi-billion dollar individuals in the world.
Born in 1959 to famous business tycoon, Dhirubhai Ambani  and Kokilaben Ambani, both of Indian descent.
Anil attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennysylvania where he obtained his Masters in Business Administration. Before then, he got his Bachelor of Science from the University of Mumbai (previously University of Bombay). 
He assumed the post of Co-Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Group in 1983. After the split of the Reliance Group, Ambani incorporated Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) and included companies like Reliance Communication, Reliance Capital, Reliance Energy and Reliance Natural Resources Ltd. 
Anil’s industrious and visionary efforts led the Reliance Power to a multi-billion dollar Initial Public Offering which represented the biggest IPO in Indian business history.  He raised 3 billion dollars.
By 2007, Anil was worth 42 billion dollars and held 66 percent of Reliance Communications. He rose on the Forbes Magazine list to become the sixth richest person in the world and was considered the fastest growing billion-dollar man in the world.
He currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad; member of the Executive Board, Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad; member of the Board of Governors, Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur; member of Wharton Board of Overseers, The Wharton School, USA. Anil Ambani is also the President, Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar.


Anil combines initiative

Several important media organizations and economic authorities have recognized Anil's incredible landmarks. In 1997, Business India awarded him the Businessman of the Year. His exemplary character was recognized by MTV when he was awarded the MTV Youth Icon of the Year in 2003. Due to his astute management and visionary leadership, the Platts Global Energy Awards bestowed him with the CEO of the Year 2004. He has since received several other accolades from different organizations including "The Entrepreneur of the Decade Award" by the Bombay Management Association; Times of India's "Businessman of the Year 2006"; Asiaweek Magazine's "Leaders of the millennium in Business and Finance". He also received the award for "First Wharton Indian Alumni Award" by the Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF) and Best Role Model" by India Today Magazine in August 2006.

Motivated by the efforts of his father in building a business empire, Anil combines initiative, hard work, self-belief to reach for incredible heights in the business industry. His brother, Mukesh Ambani sits alongside him, on the Forbes Magazine richest man in the world list. Anil is married to Indian actress, Tina Ambani and they have two sons together, Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul.
